Ben McLemore was expected to be a high pick coming out of Kansas in the 2013 NBA draft. For whatever reason he slid to #7 solidifying his fate of being a Sacramento King. Ben McLemore had a disappointing rookie season for the Kings shooting below 40% from the field and failing to average double digit points on a bad team.
I have definitely seen progress from the former Jayhawk. This past season he averaged 12.1ppg on 43.7% shooting (35.8% from 3). McLemore also improved his passing & defence which was dreadful in his rookie season.
In McLemore’s final 9 April games of the season he went out with a bang averaging 16.2ppg (on 49.1% shooting), 3.6rpg, 3.1apg, 1.8spg. I feel confident this King can maintain these numbers, with the exception on the FG%, in his 3rd NBA season whether the point guard is Rajon Rondo or Darren Collison.
