I was shocked in 2013 when Alex Len was drafted ahead of Nerlens Noel. Injuries ruined his rookie season, but when Alex Len was healthy in his sophomore season he looked really good when he was on the court. He started 44 games where he rebounded well and blocked a nice number of shots in just 24 minutes per game. Furthermore, there’s not a lot of negatives to his game. Len isn’t horrible from the line for a big and doesn’t turn the ball over at a high rate.
There is some concern whether Alex will see more minutes this season after the Suns signed Tyson Chandler in the summer. I don’t see the Suns as a playoff team and Tyson Chandler is getting old, so I don’t see why the Suns wouldn’t want to develop a young Alex Len for the future. Also, if the Suns end up trading Markieff Morris there’s a good chance they would play Len alongside Tyson Chandler in the starting lineup. I expect upticks across the board statistically for Alex Len with more NBA minutes under his belt this season especially in FG% as he improves his shot selection.
Bold Prediction: 9.8ppg, 8.5rpg, 2.4bpg, FG 54%
